Maia Sandu should leave her vainglory aside and should change her electoral message for the runoff vote, chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu, ex-candidate for President, stated in a program on Noroc TV channel, IPN reports.
“Maia Sandu should understand that she now does not go alongside the government or Plahotniuc. If she wants to beat Dodon, she should focus on the geopolitical factor. This way she will win the battle with Dodon, as Dorin Chirtoaca won the battle with Zinaida Grecheanyi,” stated the Liberal leader.
Mihai Ghimpu called on the supporters of the Liberal Party to vote for Maia Sandu. “They should vote for the pro-European candidate and should then return home as we have a lot to do to effect the union,” he said.
Mihai Ghimpu also said that the Liberal Party will concentrate its efforts on Moldova’s union with Romania. “Our activity only starts. We will concentrate our efforts on this. It is a struggle that I has conducted for over 30 years. Time has come to act. The European Union is no longer the one that was. Fissures appeared. It’s not true that the number of unionists in the Republic of Moldova is equal to the number of votes given to the unionist candidates. Many voted for Maia Sandu so that Igor Dodon could not win the elections by the first round,” he stated.
