Dorin Chrtoaca will complete his duties of mayor and will not yield to the pressure to resign, the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu stated in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
“No mayor did so much for Chisinau as Dorin Chirtoaca did. The people are used to criticize and want everything to be done overnight. Dorin moved things on and his actions will produce effects during many years ahead,” said Ghimpu.
He noted that there are no chances for the Liberal Dorin Chirtoaca to be discharged from the post of mayor by the Chisinau Municipal Council. “A number of 34 votes are needed for dismissing the mayor. They are short of one vote. The Democratic councilor will not vote for the dismissal,” stated the Liberal leader.
Mihai Ghimpu expressed his regret at the fact that Dorin Chirtoaca cannot run in the presidential elections because of younger age and said that the Liberal Party discussed a number of candidates for the presidency, including his candidacy and the candidacy of Anatol Salaru.
The Liberal leader said he is satisfied with the work done by the Filip Government. “I think in two years things wil change,” he stated. Asked about the assertion that the state was captured by oligarchs, Mihai Ghimpu said he is not an oligarch, while Vladimir Plahotniuc holds no government post.
