Migrant parents in France and children that remained at home to benefit from new communication source

A book for the parents that go abroad to work will be published as part of the Support to Children and Parents Affected by Migration Project. It will be adapted and translated in French so that it could be used as communication source by the parents working in France and their children that remained at home. This applies to children of Bulgarian, Romania, Nigerian, Moroccan and other origins. The announcement was made in Chisinau at the first meeting of the Moldovan and French teams that launched the project. The project is implemented by the Child Rights Information Center (CRIC) and the French association ALC, Info-Prim Neo reports. The editing of the book titled “My Child is Home Alone” in French is one of the activities of the one year and a half project supported by the European Commission and the United Nations. The project’s aims are to analyze the effects of parent migration on children and to carry out different activities intended for Moldovan children and their parents working in France, the CRIC says in a communique. “Many Moldovan parents in France need assistance and this book is the first to establish direct communication between the parents and the irchildren affected by migration, offering various solutions,” said the ALC director Patrick Hauvuy. The Support to Children and Parents Affected by Migration Project is one of the 55 winners of the contest of grants for financing migration-related projects. 547 institutions from different countries took part in the competition. In 2008, the CRIC published a pocket book titled “Home Alone” and “The Guidebook for Professionals Working with Migrants’ Children” intended for the girls and boys whose parents work abroad.
