The president of the Moldovan Football Federation (MFF) Pavel Cebanu proposed that the 2017 season should be an intermediary one, while from 2018 Moldova’s Championship should be organized according to the ‘spring-autumn’ system. The proposal was submitted in a meeting of the Professional Football Committee on December 15. This involved representatives of National Division football clubs, IPN reports.

Those attending exchanged opinions on the initiative. This was welcomed by the club managers. Until January 16, they are to present their proposals in written form. A recommendation of the MFF Executive Committee will be formulated in the next meeting of the Professional Football Committee.

The current season resumes on February 24. After 19 stages played, Milsami holds the lead. The team from Orhei is two points ahead of Sheriff, which played by one more match.
