The Ministry of Education and Youth (MEY), together with the High Level Group for Moldovan Children, is conducting trainings for coordinators of the community events outlined in the National Plan and Strategy for Community Action for Children in Difficulty covering the period 2007-2009, Info-Prim Neo reports. The training seminars are held on the basis of support materials worked out earlier, such as the “Coordinator’s Guidelines”, “Volunteer’s Guidebook” and the “Guidelines for Activities”. Until February 26, seminars will be held in Edinet, Orhei, Balti, Leova, Ungheni, Soroca, Comrat, Causeni and in Chisinau city, with the participation of coordinators from neighbouring districts. The National Strategy for Community Action for Children in Difficulty was adopted in August 2007. The goal of the Strategy is to develop and promote a community-based network that will ensure social inclusion for at least 20 percent of the children in difficulty. The community actions are coordinated by the High Level Group for Moldovan Children, founded in 2006 by Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev and Baroness Emma Nicholson, a Member of the European Parliament.
