This year too, the Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and All Moldova will bring the Holy Fire from Jerusalem. It will happen on Holy Saturday of the Holy Week, IPN reports.
The Metropolitan Church has announced that it is organizing, under the aegis and with the participation of His Eminence Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, a blessed pilgrimage to the Holy Land to fetch the Holy Fire during the Holy Week (April 29-May 4, 2024). Thus, the procession that will bring the Holy Fire will return to Moldova on May 4, on Holy Saturday.
Traditionally, on Saturday evening, on the eve of Easter, the Holy Fire is brought to the Nativity Metropolitan Cathedral in the center of the capital city. The Holy Fire is distributed to priests and the faithful, who spread it throughout the country.
The Orthodox Christians this year celebrate Easter on May 5.
