Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova Vladimir called upon the politicians to replace the “political struggle” with “cooperation”. “The Republic of Moldova experiences again a tense period, when the intrigue and evil interests may compromise our joint efforts to build a powerful and prosperous society. The Orthodox Church of Moldova reasserts its conciliation position and wish to see society and its leaders engaged in the same work aimed at creating and developing,” reads a message from His Holiness, Info-Prim Neo reports. His Holiness Vladimir said that today we do not have the right to be indifferent to the problems that destroy unity from inside and that pose very great dangers whose effect is hard to be predicted and that cannot be remedied. “Besides, we should not forget that we are approaching Lent, which is a period of spiritual recovery, forgiveness and reconciliation. This period should be used for creation and acknowledgement so that your deeds are guided by God. We, for our part, will pray for union and understanding between brothers and for overcoming all the difficult moments, towards peace, prosperity and unity,” says the message. On March 5, the legislative body will hold a sitting to examine the Communists’ initiative to give a vote of no confidence to the Government. Some of the politicians and experts said the dismissal of the executive will inevitably lead to early elections.
