President Nicolae Timofti received congratulatory messages on the occasion of the Independence Day of Moldova from a number of heads of state, IPN reports.
In his message, the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis says he was very glad to meet again Nicolae Timofti in Suceava, where he confirmed Romania’s full support for the rapprochement between Moldova and the European Union. “The results achieved until now on this road show that Moldova is able to assume and achieve ambitious objectives. The strengthening of these achievements will definitely lead to the realization of the aspirations of the Moldovan people. Romania will continue to be near you in this effort,” said the Romanian head of state.
U.S. President Barack Obama said the United States supports Moldova’s European aspirations and considers that the European integration is the best guarantee for the country’s security and prosperity. “We are glad to see the continuous progress made by the Republic of Moldova in strengthening the rule of law and continuing the reforms for ensuring a stable and prosperous future. We know that the reformation process is underway and the United States is ready to help you. The United States is committed to help Moldova keep its territorial integrity and sovereignty,” reads the message.
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin is sure that the development of the bilateral relations in the spirit of cooperation and friendship meets the fundamental interests of the people from the two states and will help strengthen regional and European stability and security.
The President of France François Hollande wrote that he wants the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two states to develop. “I hope the recent appointment of the new Government will enable to continue the political dialogue between our states, which was very fruitful during the last few years. In this connection, our meeting this May, on the sidelines of the Eastern Partnership Summit of Riga, is an additional step towards redeveloping our relations. It is important to profit from these ties so as to cooperate in different areas,” says the message of the French head of state.
Germany’s President Joachim Gauck said that Moldova took important steps towards extending the cooperation with Germany and the EU. “I wish you success and potency in implementing the imminent profound reforms that are for the benefit of the Moldovan people. The Federal Republic of Germany will be near your country in continuing the talks aimed at resolving the Transnistrian dispute, supporting Moldova’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Together we want to commit ourselves to ensuring the peaceful coexistence of the peoples of Europe,” reads the message.
On August 27, 2015 Moldova celebrated 24 years of the declaration of its independence.
