Dear citizens of the Republic of Moldova!
Dear compatriots!
A few weeks ago, the Republican Party "Heart of Moldova" launched the initiative to organize a consultative referendum on the neutrality of the Republic of Moldova, simultaneously with the 2025 parliamentary elections.
As we announced from the beginning, our initiative is underpinned by a number of strong arguments. First of all, we want the citizens to be given the opportunity to express their support for the constitutional principle of neutrality that particular politicians, including those in positions of great responsibility, question. The opinion expressed by citizens in the referendum would put an end to the polemics on this issue, but also to the statements that the Republic of Moldova should renounce its neutrality and join a military alliance. Our country needs peace more than ever, and neutrality is a cornerstone in this regard.
Secondly, we want that, having the direct mandate of the people in this regard, the next government should start a series of steps at foreign level in order to ensure the neutrality of our country is recognized internationally. Only by having solid international guarantees can the Republic of Moldova ensure that the principle of neutrality becomes fully functional and guarantees peace. And a functional neutrality is also a first serious step towards solving the problem of the country's territorial integrity.
Unfortunately, the authorities did not have the capacity to realize the essence of our initiative and did not understand the arguments we provided. This convinces us once again that those who currently represent the power in the Republic of Moldova have other interests than the citizens have. Under these conditions, the Republican Party "Heart of Moldova" decided to launch a broad campaign of consultations with citizens in order to agree the steps that need to be taken next. In the immediate period, we will go to the localities of the country where we will discuss with people the importance of strengthening the principle of neutrality, the actions that are required to ensure its functionality and efficiency. We will also tell the people about the attitude of the authorities to such an important issue as the strengthening of the country's neutrality status as a basic condition for ensuring peace and harmonious development of society. A the end of the campaign of consultations with citizens, we will publicly announce our further actions.

This is the third time in 2024 when, together with the team, we launch campaigns to consult the citizen. The previous two consultation campaigns were successful, and we implemented the proposals and ideas you formulated. We are sure that these new consultations will also be successful, and we, together with you, will identify the best solutions and the most appropriate actions, which we will continue to take together.
