Merit awards for students

Twelve students of the first and second cycles of combined medical and pharmaceutical university studies became holders of the Republic’s Award of 1,200 lei in the academic year 2011-2012, Info-Prim Neo reports. Another 30 students will receive the Government’s Scholarship to the value of 1,000 lei, while 15 students – the President’s Scholarship of 1,090 lei. The list of scholars was approved in the September 15 meeting of the Government. Five students of vocational schools were given the President’s Scholarship of 845 lei, while 20 students – the Gaudeamus Scholarship of 730 lei. The lists of students were compiled by the senates of the institutions of higher education and teachers’ councils of vocational schools. The awards are given to students who the previous academic year got an average grade of minimum 9 in technical, agrarian, economic, medical, military, law education and exact sciences (math, physics, chemistry and biology) and of minimum 9.5 in other kinds of education in the summer session.
