The people of art with special accomplishments aged 60 and over besides pension will receive a monthly merit allowance equal to the average gross official salary. The recipients will be chosen by a national commission, IPN reports.
Under a bill approved by the Government, the Ministry of Culture must earmark a part of the state budget allocations for providing merit allowances.
By this bill, the Government aims to support the people of art who contribute to the country’s good image and leave a rich cultural patrimony as inheritance.
