The merging of the thermoelectric plants CETs and SA Termocom will start after companies’ assets are assessed, said acting Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar. According to him, the program to restructure the centralized heating system in the municipality of Chisinau began to be carried out and will be implemented no matter who is in the Cabinet, IPN reports.
The official said the cooperation with the local authorities in this respect is positive. A lending agreement for US$40 million is negotiated in parallel with the World Bank. The loan will be granted in concessional conditions and will be used to modernize companies working in the energy sector.
As regards the priorities after merger, Valeriu Lazar said it is important to reduce the losses of heat that exert great pressure on the heat charges.
