MEP Viorica Dancila opens office in Chisinau

Romanian Member of the European Parliament Viorica Dancila inaugurated her office in Chisinau on December 7. This is the first office of a MEP opened in a country outside the European Union. The office is housed by “Ginta Latina” Theater that is located at 18 Sfatul Tarii St, Info-Prim Neo reports. Viorica Dancila told a news conference that the office is designed to bring the Romanians from Bessarabia closer to the European values and institutions. Thus, all those who will need information or advice about the European Union can seek help from the MEP’s consultants. ”I think it is something ordinary for a MEP to open an office in Chisinau. I hope that other members of the European Parliament will do the same. Until now, the European MPs who visited Moldova only came, spoke and left,” stated Viorica Dancila. She stressed that this office was opened at the request of the Romanians from Moldova and at the insistence of the president of the Organization of PSD Romania in Moldova and the candidate for a seat in the Romanian Parliament, who will run in the December 9 elections, Victor Alexeev. ”I started to discuss the possibility of opening an office in Chisinau at the beginning of the year. Afterward, my colleagues from Moldova contacted me almost every week and asked me when I will open it,” said Viorica Dancila. She also said that she will pay visits to other settlements of Moldova and will try to come to the office in Chisinau as often as possible so as to find out about the people’s problems and interests on the spot.
