A man from Briceni was sentenced to 11 years in jail for raping a minor girl aged 13. A man from Sangerei got the same punishment for trying to rape an eight-year-old girl.
In a communique, the Prosecutor General’s Office says that in June 2011, the 28-year-old man from Briceni, being under the influence of alcohol, repeatedly forced a girl aged 13 to have sex with him. Every time, the culprit took the victims to the outskirts of the settlement so as not to be seen. The girl told her parents about what happened and these alerted the police.
The man from Sangerei attempted to rape a girl aged eight last summer. Contacted by IPN, prosecutor of Sangerei district Adrian Bordianu said the 54-year-old man lived in rented accommodations at the victim’s neighbor. He enticed the child into going to watch TV with him. He was caught by the house owner in the act of trying to rape the girl. As in the first case, the man will serve time in a closed prison.
The sentences are not yet definitive.
