Employees of the National Patrolling Inspectorate stopped in Chisinau a vehicle with two male occupants aged 33 and 39. As a result of a check, they found over half a tonne of metal for construction in the car. Asked where they took the metal from, the men confessed that they stole it from a building site located in Ciocana district.
The suspects were escorted to the Ciocana police inspectorate for questioning. They face up to four years in jail for theft, IPN reports.
Another case of theft was discovered by the police near Porumbesti village of Cantemir district, where there were found three plastic containers with about 70 liters of diesel fuel in them on the roadside. A man aged 28 from Porumbesti is suspected of stealing the fuel from a truck parked nearby.
Both of the cases are being investigated.
