The Center for Combating Trafficking in Persons (CCTP) of the Ministry for Internal Affairs and the Journalistic Investigations Center signed a Memorandum of collaboration, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to CCTP deputy director Iurie Ursan, the goal of the document is to establish efficient collaboration with the mass media regarding fair and objective information of the people about the phenomenon of human trafficking. Head of the Journalistic Investigations Center Cornelia Cozonac said that she hoped for a constructive dialogue, tight cooperation and an efficient exchange of information. One of the goals of the partnership is for mass media to bring to the public issues of public interest related to the prevention and fight against human trafficking via debates within the Club of Investigative Journalists, conferences and press materials, debate shows and other actions of raising public awareness. “I hope this memorandum motivates the workers of investigation bodies to be more open towards the press because they know real and interesting cases, worthy to be written about”, said Cornelia Cozonac. The Ministry for Internal Affairs issued a press release informing that cooperation in the field of fighting human trafficking, the monitoring of police activity by the civil society, cultivating people’s trust in the act of justice were the basic priorities of the Ministry in the process of institutional reform.
