The public association “Patria noastra – Moldova” (“Our homeland - Moldova”) said President Igor Dodon has done almost nothing of what he promised in the election campaign during the first three months in office. In a news conference at IPN, members of the association said the Head of State forgot about the people who voted him.

Association member Timur Bartas said that in the campaign prior to the presidential elections, Igor Dodon promised to dissolve Parliament and to cause early parliamentary elections. “The consultative referendum announced on this subject inclusively will not have legal effect and is thus not a solution. Budget money will be wasted instead of increasing the salaries of teachers and pensions,” he stated.

According to Bartas, the struggle against unionism declared by Igor Dodon also remains an undelivered promise. The President promised that only patriots will be chosen to work on the Supreme Security Council, but accepted the director of the Security and Intelligence Service Mihai Balan, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu and Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen on this.

Another associating member Alexandr Popa said the President of Moldova promised he will request the Prosecutor General’s Office to investigate the banking fraud, but didn’t keep this promise either. The fact that the population will be asked in the referendum if it supports the annulment of the law that makes the repayment of the embezzled money the people’s burden will not help advance the investigation and will not contribute to the restoration of this money.

On the other hand, Alexandr Popa welcomed the fact that the people will be able to state their opinion on the teaching of the History of Moldova in schools at the referendum. The people should be also asked what language is spoken in Moldova: Moldovan or Romanian.

Sergei Perciun, association member, accused President Dodon of playing the game of the current political class. “We put our hope in Igor Dodon as we thought he would be a force that would oppose the current regime, but he is not a defender of the country. His purpose now is to protect this system and we are disappointed” he stated.

The public association “Patria noastra – Moldova” assessed the work done by the President during his first 100 days in office.
