The Parliament of the 20th legislature has five new members. Pavel Ianeț, Gheorghe Brashovski and Eleonora Graur are substitute candidates on the list of the Democratic Party, while Ivan Filimon and Gennady Morcov are substitute candidates on the Party of Communists‘ list, IPN reports.
The seats of the new MPs were validated by the Constitutional Court on January 18, 2019. These replaced Artur Reshetnikov, Raisa Apolski, Valentina Buliga, Marcel Răducan and Corneliu Mihalache who were named to other public posts.
Moldova’s Parliament on February 7 holds the first plenary sitting of the spring session. This is the last session of the Parliament of the 20th legislature whose mandate expired on November 30, 2018. Under the Constitution, the mandate is extended until the new legislative body is formed legally. The legislative elections were set for February 24, 2019.
