The members of Moldova’s first Parliament will stage a forum in Chisinau on November 17 in a move to convince the people to vote for continuing the European course, the head of the Association “Parlamentul 90” Anatolie Turcan and its secretary Nicolae Misail said in the program “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
The former lawmakers said that emphasis will be put on the 30% of undecided voters. “The administration made a lot of mistakes, but the people must understand that on November 30 we will vote either for continuing the European course or for returning to the morass in which we had stayed for so many years. The abandonment of the European course will be a catastrophe for Moldova, which will have long and serious consequences,” stated Anatolie Turcan.
The former MPs said they are ready to go themselves to meet the voters so as to campaign for a particular party and to convince the people of the benefits of the European integration. “Only those who are blind cannot see the improvements. Roads were built, schools and nurseries were repaired with European money. What the Customs Union did? They gave money to Moldova, but for financing extremist political forces so as to prevent the country from continuing its European course. We will persuade the people by making them weigh the things done by the EU and those done by the Customs Union,” stated Nicolae Misail.
The two former lawmakers explained that the European course is in danger and they thus intend to take steps. They criticized the current administration for not ensuring efficient communication with the people and for detaching itself from them
