Members of the Party “Democracy at Home” accuse the party’s leader Vasile Costiuc of compiling the list of candidates for the July 11 snap parliamentary elections without consulting them and of taking money for placing persons at the top of the list. In a news conference at IPN, Vasile Costiuc was named “swindler and traitor”, his mates accusing him of incorporating persons who represent Ilan Shor and Vlad Plahotniuc into the list, IPN reports.
Ion Garștea, who heads the party’s Local Organization in Orhei, said that Vasile Costiuc falsified documents by which he was reelected president of the party. The party’s congress was held on paper only. It didn’t involve members of the party and this is a violation of the legislation and of the statutes of the Party “Democracy at Home”. The responsible bodies, including the Central Election Commission, should examine this case.
Ion Garștea expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that his name is not among the top ten on the list of candidate, even if we worked hard in districts, the bad weather notwithstanding.
Vasile Mereuță, secretary of the Ștefan Vodă Local Organization, accused Vasile Costiuc of selling the Party “Democracy at Home” to Vlad Plahotniuc in 2012.
Simion Bordeian, who heads the Soroca Local Organization, said that he lost confidence in Vasile Costiuc. “I doubt it that he will solve the problems related to the national ideal,” he said, calling upon the citizens to vote for the authentic pro-European parties on July 11.
Vladimir Melnic, the head of the Căușeni Local Organization, noted that Vasile Costiuc cannot represent the Party “Democracy at Home” as he says one thing, but does another ting and the local organizations weren’t invited to the party’s congress. He called on the citizens, including those from the diaspora, not to transfer money to the account of the Party “Democracy at Home” as Vasile Costiuc spends this money on repair works on his house. “He is a traitor and he betrayed the national interests and all the citizens,” stated Vladimir Melnic.
Member of Party “Democracy at Home” Anatolie Bița stated that the party’s leader is a “false patriot” as he never attended the meetings with people when he was invited to them.
