The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) accepted today the resignation request submitted by Judge Vasile Șchiopu, of his own accord. The judge's withdrawal from the judiciary also means the termination of his mandate as a CSM member, IPN reports.
Vasile Schiopu was elected as a member of the CSM during the General Assembly of Judges on April 28, 2023. On May 2, 2023, he was seconded to the CSM for a term of six years from his position as interim president of the Ungheni District Court.
Vasile Schiopu’s mandate as a judge at the Ungheni District Court and as a member of the Council will end on January 31, 2025. He will be replaced by the alternate member elected during the General Assembly of Judges – Livia Mitrofan, interim president of the Chișinău District Court.
