A member of the crew of the plane that crashed in the Russian town of Kazan - the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan - was native from Moldova and had Russian nationality, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova.

According to the Ministry, there were no Moldovan citizens on board. The authorities do not possess information about the time when the member of the crew who was from Moldova left the country. It is known only that he no longer had Moldovan nationality.

The accident happened at about 17.25, Moldova’s hour, on November 17. The Boeing 737 took off from Moscow and was flying on an internal route. Forty-four passengers and six crew members were killed in the crash.
