Meetings could not be organised in the centre of the city anymore

A decision draft, included on the agenda of Thursday meeting, 16 March, of Chisinau Municipal Council, provides only 10 permanent place for organising public meetings in the capital, including few parks. There are included in the list Piata Marii Adunari Nationale, where, according to decision draft, will be organised only events with festive character at municipal and national levels. In the same time, Public Garden „Stefan cel Mare si Sfant”, square of the Cathedral „Nasterea Domnului” and square of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet will be allowed only cultural events – festivals, performances, exhibitions etc.
Those 10 permanent places proposed for organisation of meetings are the park Valea Morilor (Teatrul de Vara) on the street Alexei Mateevici, Park „Alunelul” of Calea Iesilor, park „Rascani” on the street Alecu Russo, land in front of the Circus and in front of the Trade Union Palace, square of the store UNIC, monument of Comsomolist heroes on the avenue Renasterii, land when entering the Republican Staium and the park „Valea Morilor”, soseaua Hancesti (under the bridge).
According to social-humanitarian and interethnic relations department, when drafting the decision it was taken into consideration the places requested more often by the organisers of meetings. It also was taken into account the importance and destination of Piata Marii Adunari Nationale and rest places of citizens.
