The Superior Council of Magistracy’s meeting scheduled for July 10 was postponed until July 17 because the quorum was not present. Only five of the 12 members of the Council came to the meeting, IPN reports.
The Council’s president Victor Micu said for the meeting to be deliberative, at least eight members should be present. Some of the members are absent on health grounds, others because they take part in other meetings or for other objective reasons.
The agenda of the meeting included 21 issues, such as the holding of the contest to fill the vacant post of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice, of the contest to fill the vacant post of vice president of the Supreme Court of Justice, the president of the Penal Board, and of the contest to fill the vacancy of judge at the Chisinau Appeals Court. The Superior Council of Magistracy was to also name judges at the court of law of Balti, Drochia, Orhei, Cahul and other courts.
