The meeting of the commission on social protection, health and family that was to examine the simple motion against the public health policies was postponed. The opposition MPs accused the Socialist MPs of intentionally blocking legislative activity, IPN reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalco asked to exclude the examination of the motion from the agenda and insisted that the proposal should be put to the vote. Pro Moldova MP Ruxanda Glavan, who is the author of the motion, said the Parliament’s Regulation do not allow for exclusion when a commission is to give its appraisal within seven days. “As the commission didn’t meet last week, it is obliged to examine the issue now and to give an appraisal,” stated the MP.

According to the jurists attending the meeting, the simple motion is to be examined by Parliament within 14 days. However, under the Parliament’s Regulation, the commission’s appraisal is needed for the motion to be debated in Parliament and this is to be provided within seven days of the registration of the motion.

After a break, the proposal to put off the examination of the motion was rejected, with the agenda being put to the vote on the whole. There was a parity of votes and the meeting was adjourned.

PPPDA MP Liviu Vovc said the doctors suffocate and rapid and concrete action is needed, while the Socialists intentionally blocked the meeting so that the simple motion could not be discussed.

Contacted by IPN, Vladimir Odnostalco said the PSRM will come later with a reaction to the situation and to accusations made against the Socialist MPs.
