The weekly meeting at the Chisinau City Hall was held amid blare on April 11. The relatives of the victims of the gas cylinder blast at a café in central Chisinau tried to enter the meeting hall to discuss with the mayor, but were hampered by the police, IPN reports.

The people said they came again to the City Hall to demand that the investigation into the January 9 blast should be hastened and that those who are to blame for the explosion should be held accountable. When on the second floor, the relatives of the victims were not allowed to go in the meeting hall.

The meeting was shortly interrupted as it was noisy in the corridor. Things calmed down after Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca went out to talk to the crowd. He asked them to wait until the meeting is over and will then have a discussion.

Four persons died and a dozen were injured in the blast. The relatives of the victims protested at the Chisinau City Hall for several times, requesting to penalize those to blame for the explosion. A month ago, the municipal authorities decided to allocate by 40,000 lei to the families of the victims in addition to the initial 20,000 lei offered to these in assistance.
