The Medication Agency denies the accusations made by the National Agency for Competition Protection (ANPC), which said that it favored the importers of insulin. Related statements were made by the Medication Agency’s director Alexandru Coman in a news conference on Tuesday after the ANPC head Viorica Carare made the accusations one day earlier, Info-Prim Neo reports. Alexandru Coman said the centralized tender contests are organized and held by a working group that includes employees of the Medication Agency and specialists in the field. The group prepares the contest documents without making changes to the received documentary information. The announcement about the tender contest and the deadline for the submission of bids is published in the bulletin of the Public Procurement Agency. According to Alexandru Coman, each institution should fulfill their duties. “The Medication Agency is not empowered to verify these facts. This is the duty of the ANPC. This Agency did nothing during a year and a half,” he stated. The Medication Agency’ vice director Leonid Ginsari said that no violation was committed when the winning companies were designated. “There are bodies that verify the correctness of the prices. The working group cannot ask modifying the prices,” he stated. Viorica Carare said Monday that two importers who took part in a centralized tender contest to purchase insulin reached a cartel agreement that involved the Medication Agency.
