The medical staff that provides medical assistance to persons infected with COVID-19 or to those who are suspected of having caught the virus will get a bonus of 100% of the salary in addition to the already determined financial incentives, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated after the meeting of the Single Command Center.

The minister was quoted by IPN as saying that the money donated through the accounts opened by the Ministry of Health to contain the COVID-19 pandemic will be given to doctors working in the front line and to pre-hospital emergency medical assistance teams that assist and transport persons suspected of having caught COVID-19.

“There are business entities and private individuals who continue to transfer money to the account opened by the Ministry of Finance and I want to announce with complete responsibility that this money will be used to financially motivate the employees of the healthcare system who are in the front line in the fight against COVID-19,” stated Viorica Dumbrăveanu.

Sixteen more cases of infection with COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on March 24. The total number of infected persons now rose to 125. Among these are four healthcare workers.
