More than 900 medical students and young doctors from seven countries came together in Chisinau on May 12 to take part in the sixth MedEspera International Medical Congress for medical students and young doctors. During two days, these will present scientific works and will take part in workshops where they will be able to use the knowledge gained at the university. Organized by the Association of Medical Students and Residents of Moldova, the congress takes place at the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, IPN reports.

The organizers said MedEspera is an efficient experience exchange with young researchers from the country and abroad. The head of the organizational committee Corina Scerbatiuc-Condur said this is the only international scientific congress organized by medical students. The event became already a tradition in which all the medical students can take part, regardless of their faculty.

This year’s congress involves medical students and young doctors from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Germany, Lithuania, and Romania.

Gheorghe Rojnoveanu, pro-rector for scientific activities of the University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, said MedEspera is a platform for presenting results and launching innovative ideas. Owing to this congress, the participants identify common topics for discussion and debates. The event helps the young health professionals to make their debut in science.

Attending the event, Deputy Minister of Health Aliona Serbulenco said the classes of doctors trained at the University “Nicolae Testemitanu” become better every year. The doctors who received training at this institution are known not only in Moldova. It is important to engage the medical professionals in scientific research so that they develop professionally.
