The children with disabilities younger than three will benefit from the social servicer Personal Assistance. Persons who reached retirement could also be engaged in this service, IPN reports, quoting amendments made by the Government to a number of its previous decisions.
There was also excluded the limitation on the number of hours of sign-language interpretation for persons with hearing impairments. Currently, these persons benefit only from six hours of such interpretation a year.
The amendments stipulate that the persons who benefit from the service Family Placement for Adults and who are fully maintained by the state will receive 25% of the old-age pension or disability pension and will be able to use this money as they wish.
The changes were made following multiple notifications from institutions and organizations working in the field. Moldova also tends to meet the standards of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
