The second round of the new mayoral elections will take place in Boșcana commune of Criuleni district and Iliciovca commune of Floresti district on Sunday, December 1. The three polling stations will be open between 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 p.m., IPN reports.
In the November 17 elections, no candidate gathered more than half of the number of valid votes cast.
For the second round of the mayoral elections, 4,020 ballots were printed. According to the Central Election Commission, out of the total number of ballots, 2,797 were printed in Romanian and 1,223 in Russian. The cost of a ballot paper is 0.35 lei, and the total value of the print run is 1,407 lei.
The voter who, for health reasons or for other sound reasons, cannot come to the polling station can request the mobile ballot box. On election day, applications are approved by the electoral bureau until 02:00 p.m. only upon the presentation of a medical certificate.
Under the law, in the second round of voting, the candidate who obtained most votes is considered elected. In case of a tie, the candidate who obtained most votes in the first round of voting is considered elected.
