Mayors in Chisinau suburbs represent five parties

Eight independent mayors, five communists, two representatives of the Social-Liberal Party (PSL) and by one on behalf of “Moldova Noastra” (AMN), National-Liberal Party (PNL) and the “Green Alliance” Party (PEAV) – this the new political colour of those 18 mayoralties of the towns and communes included in the composition of the municipality of Chisinau. After the runoff elections the mayorship was won by four independent candidates, two communist and one representative of the PSL, PNL, PCDP and PEAV, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the recent data from the Chisinau District Election Council, the second round was won by the independent candidates Gheorghe Calancea in Colonita commune, Vitalie Mazur in Codru town, Mihail Secrieru in Truseni commune and Valentina Patras – in Gratiesti commune. The communist Valentin Satnic won the Mayor Office in Stauceni commune, and his party colleague Ion Bivol regained the office held in Bacioi commune. The runoff election in Durlesti town was won by the representative of PNL, Nicolae Crudu, in Vatra by the PSL representative Ion Bobeico, and in Bubuieci – by Ion Saranut on behalf of the PEAV, who was the former mayor of the settlement until 2003.
The mayors in 9 settlements out of 18 suburban mayoralties were elected in the first ballot. They are the independent candidates Ion Belegut, in Ghidighici Commune, Constantin Scripnic in Ciorescu commune. At the same time, the following mayors were re-elected: Valentin Gutan in Cricova town and Ghenadie Iurco in Sangera town, both independent, Nicon Scurtu, the representative of the PSL, Iurie Onofriuc in Vadul lui Voda, on behalf of the Party of Communists. The former mayor of Budesti, elected on behalf of the AMN, ran this time for the Party of Communists, becoming one those five mayors of the ruling party.
Condrita commune elected the former mayor, Vasile Zagoreanu, on behalf of AMN, who won the office in 2003 representing the same party. The residents of Tohatin voted for the Christian-Democrat Sergiu Cibotaru.
At the previous elections, the Social-Liberal Alliance “Moldova Noastra” was represented by eight mayors, two – on behalf of the PSL-SDP, one from – PCDP, CUM and PCRM, and five were independent.
