Mayoral elections to be rerun in three settlements July 31

Three settlements of Moldova will hold again mayoral elections next Sunday, July 31, as the courts invalidated the June 19 elections. New elections will take place in Causeni town, Climautii de Jos village of Soldanesti district and Sofia village of Hancesti district, Info-Prim Neo reports. Central Election Commission president Iurie Ciocan said the elections were declared invalid because the lists of candidates for mayor were inaccurate and the right to secret ballot and the procedure for voting by mobile ballot box were violated. About 30,000 lei will be spent on organizing new elections in the three settlements.
