Mayor seeks explanations over audit report of 2009

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked for written explanations from the heads of district education divisions over an auditor report of 2009. He made it clear that dismissals may follow, Info-Prim Neo reports. The audit report reveals a number of deviations committed by the given divisions, especially when holding tender contests to purchase products for schools and kindergartens. According to the mayor, the divisions favored certain economic entities even if their bids were higher than the market prices, event twice higher. The audit report says there were presented and accepted similar bids and the same grammatical mistakes made confirm this. The division heads said they ensured the transparency of the tender contests and have always chosen products of a high quality.
