Mayor recommends persons responsible for meters to disconnect heat during the day

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca has announced he will make an ordinance whereby he will recommend the persons responsible for the heating systems in apartment buildings to save heat, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Until the weather is warm, we should economize on heating, at least in apartment buildings. Thus, we should turn the faucets off in the morning and turn them on in the evening,” said the mayor. Dorin Chirtoaca also said that some of the kindergartens and schools could be disconnected from the heat supply during the night. “It is public money and nobody should think that this service is free. Last year alone, the rise by 160 lei in the price of a gigacalorie of heat cost the municipal budget 33.3 million lei. This sum was paid for heating the public institutions,” he stated.
