Mayor orders internal enquiry into death of Bus Company employee

The Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca demanded that an internal inquiry be held to determine the circumstances of the death of a driver of the Urban Bus Company. The man died on August 15 after he was crushed by the bus that he drove. Monday’s meeting of the City Hall started with a moment of silence in memory of the man, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu, the bus broke down on Cuza Voda Blvd. The driver Constantin Zaporojan aged 40 asked to be towed. A large-tonnage truck KRAZ went to pull it. The man was crushed by the bus when he was trying to couple it to the truck. Allegedly, the bus’s break malfunctioned. When the doctors arrived, the man was still alive. He died in hospital several hours later. An investigation is underway.
