The mayor of Nisporeni town Grigore Robu was arrested on Tuesday as a result of searches carried out within a criminal case started over abuse of office and falsification of statements. Two more functionaries of the Nisporeni mayor’s office were arrested, while a person was classed as a suspect and was questioned.
The information was confirmed for IPN by the spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office Violina Moraru.
The investigation group managed by the Nisporeni Prosecutor’s Office conducted searches at the homes, in the offices and cars of those concerned. No other details were made public at this stage.
