Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban demanded that Rodica Guțu should voluntarily resign as head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport given the multiple violations identified at the Division, of which the law enforcement agencies will be notified, IPN reports.
Ion Ceban said Rodica Guțu took sick leave when she learned that her work was under examination. There is information that a number of early education institutions in the municipality of Chisinau work in the absence of sanitary authorizations. A series of inconsistencies that pose a threat to children’s health were discovered during assessments carried out at some of the institutions. The problem of crowdedness in kindergartens and some of the schools remained unsolved.
The mayor noted that some of the schools lack hygiene products, hand dryers and appropriate furniture. The ventilation shafts are not annually examined and cleaned. Many of the early education institutions are not supplied with high-quality water. Also, they deviate from the model menus.
According to Ion Ceban, there is dissatisfaction among managerial staff about the subjective decisions concerning the payment of bonuses to salaries. Also, a terror regime was instituted through inspections that were followed by illegal punishments. The mayor asked for an analysis of the carried out inspections, their goal and the legality of the penalties imposed by Rodica Guțu.
