Mayor inspects streets under repair

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca inspected the streets under repair in the capital, on Saturday. He appreciates that the works are being carried out according to execution standards and project and promised that soon the people in Chisinau would have European roads, Info-Prim Neo reports. On Petricani Street, Genesis Ltd told the Mayor that besides repairing the street, the company would lay new sidewalks with access for pedestrians, bicyclists and wheelchair-ridden people. According to the program for capital rehabilitation of streets in Chisinau, the streets Mihai Viteazul, Petricani, Vadul lui Voda and Grigore Vieru should be fully renovated until the end of the year. The repair of five other road sections- Tudor Strisca St, Dacia Avenue (intersection with Gradina Botanica St), the intersection of Ismail, Varnita, Calea Basarabiei and Calea Mosilor streets and the intersection of Burebista and Muncesti streets, began in 2011, would be finished this year. The Chisinau City Hall contracted a loan of 162 million lei for the rehabilitation of streets. 115 million will be used this year. Because of repair works, traffic on Petricani St was stopped today until Sunday evening. The process of capital rehabilitation of streets started in June and will take place in several stages.
