Mihail Lozovoi, of the Democratic Party, was elected mayor of Sarata Galbena village of Hancesti district. The Central Election Commission made public the preliminary results of the second round of the mayoral elections held in the village on May 29, IPN reports.
A number of 2,400 persons of the total of over 4,500 eligible voters cast their ballots. The voter turnout was over 52%. Mihail Lozovoi polled 1,225 votes (51.36% of the vote), while his opponent Valeriu Taras, of the Liberal Party, gained 1,160 votes (48.64%).
The Central Election Commission will publish the final election results after an electoral district council presents all the electoral documents in the original.
