Union Fenosa Company in Moldova is operating in a maximum level exceptional state regime. It was announced for the period in which the equipment which was disconnected because of the sudden weather change is reinstalled and the power supply to the affected costumers is resumed, a press release of the company says, cited by Info-Prim Neo. According to the cited source, in the evening of Friday January 5, the situation was still very difficult because the installations and the lines of different capacities have been damaged, belonging to both the Company and the “Moldelectrica” State Enterprise. Given these conditions, the efforts of the dispatchers were first of all focused on localising defects and identifying methods for resuming in shortest time the supply of power through high tension lines. Installations of low and medium tension had to be connected after that. The greatest difficulties in planning and operating the urgent works for ensuring the power supply are related to the particularly large proportions of the affected zones, the complexity of the situation, the lack of telephone connection with some villages, the difficult access in some cases to the affected portions of lines, the coordination of simultaneous participation of a large number of teams and equipment from different enterprises in operating the works, the necessity to replace large quantities of materials, which are to be transported and others. In order to organise efficiently the process of repair works, exceptional state of maximum level has been announced at the Company, The working schedule has been modified for all the services involved in providing equipment and operating works, till the power supply is fully resumed. As result of the works operated, till 17.00 of Friday, January 5, other 65 localities have been reconnected to the electric power sources, besides those 105 that have been connected during Thursday, January 4. Repair works continued after that hour; other localities were to be reconnected to the power source. In the created situation, Union Fenosa management solicits the consumer’s understanding and a prudent behaviour. In order to avoid accidents or other difficult cases, any unauthorized manipulations in electric power networks are prohibited. Because of the great number of calls at the telephone of the information service of the Company 43-11-11, leading to its blocking, costumers are advised to avoid as much as it is possible frequent repeated calls, to address short and precise messages and questions, in order to provide information for other costumers who are in the same situation.
