The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office’s request to INTERPOL to issue a Red Notice for Veaceslav Platon is being examined. There is yet no information about the examination results, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said the repeated request was sent to INTERPOL in December 2021. All the materials needed for asking for the extradition of Veaceslav Platon were prepared and are to be sent to the authorities in the UK for examination.
The press release comes after the British Ambassador in Chisinau stated that the UK hasn’t received any request from INTERPOL about Moldovan citizens Veaceslav Platon and Gheorghe Cavcaliuc. He noted the UK wants to cooperate, but cannot do it without an official request from the responsible institutions.
