The November 18 friendly against Lithuania may be the last match for Ion Caras as coach of the national football squad. The contract signed by the 63-year-old coach with the Moldovan Football Federation expires on December 31, IPN reports.

In a news conference on November 11, Ion Caras said he wants to extend the contact. “Everyone wants a present on New Year’s Eve. I want the contract to be prolonged. We will have discussions,” he stated.

The coach made known the final lineup of 23 players for the match against Lithuania. “Armas and Bulgaru sustained injuries, Golovatenco will play for his club team, while Suvorov and Cebotaru weren’t summoned as I want to test other players,” he said. Seven footballers can make their debut in the given game: Boestean, D. Rassulov, Burghiu, Ivanov, Luvannor, Cricimari, and Leuca.

Top scorer of the championship Henrique Luvannor will get acquitted with his new colleagues in Vadul lui Voda on Tuesday. “I will discuss with Luvannor to see what position he wants to play. I think he is better in the offense,” added Caras.

The friendly between Moldova and Lithuania will be played on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on November 18, starting at 7pm. Tickets will go on sale on November 12 and will cost 20 to 120 lei.
