“Martsishor-2017” brings together expected guests to Chisinau

The Ministry of Culture promises exceptional performances at the International Music Festival “Martsishor 2017”. Famous artists from the country and abroad will perform within the festival during March 1-10 this year. Among the most awaited guests are the international stars Chris Norman, the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the Romanian bands “Holograf” and “3 Sud Est”. The program was presented by Minister of Culture Monica Babuc in a briefing, IPN reports.

The opening and closing concerts will be given at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac in Chisinau”. The festival is opened by the play “Spring dream”. On March 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8, performances will be given by the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Chris Norman, the National Folk Music Orchestra “Lautarii” (“Fiddlers”) and the bands “3 Sud Est”, “Holograf” and “Alex Calancea Band”. On March 9, an ethnic-folkloric performance will involve the Bulgarian singing and dancing ensemble “Rodoliubie” and the Gagauz ensembles “Kadanja” and “Diuz-Ava”. The closing performance on March 10 will feature the band “Noroc” that celebrates 50 years of the foundation.

Tickets cost 100 to 1,000 lei.

The National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” will present nine concerts within the festival. The performance on March 2 will involve soloists Alexandra Conunova, Tatiana Costiuc, Mariela Guarnera and Edoardo Guarnera under the direction of conductor Mihail Agafita. A music and jazz performance with “Jazz-Orchestra AMTAP” and the American Jazz Band “The Ambassadors” will be given on March 3. On March 5, concerts will be held by the Philharmonic’s Symphonic Orchestra directed by Mihail Agafita and Romanian pianist Ovidiu Parjol, while the band “Folk Reverse” will perform on March 6. On March 7, there will be put on the shadow play “An eternal story”, while on March 8 Iurie Sadovnic invites to the concert “Basarabia Folk”.

Ticket prices vary between 50 and 300 lei.

The Organ Hall will stage two concerts in Chisinau and the rest in districts. In Chisinau, Tadeusz Domanowski will give a piano performance accompanied by the National Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Monica Wolinska, on March 4. On March 10, Italian conduct Leonardo Quadrini will perform together with the National Chamber Orchestra and the National Chamber Choir of Moldova.

Tickets cost 100 to 300 lei.

The Chinese opera “Tianjin” will be presented at the National Opera House “Maria Biesu” on the second day of the festival.

Ticket prices vary between 50 and 250 lei.

Over 1.6 million lei was earmarked for organizing and holding the 51st International Music Festival “Martsishor”.
