Martisor festival celebrated in Saint Petersburg the second time

Martisor festival will be organized in Saint Petersburg for the second time in a row. The event will take place in the largest concert hall of the city, “Okteabrski”, on April 3. Moldova will be represented by the national folk music orchestra “Lautarii” headed by master Nicolae Botgros and by the groups “Kadynja” from Comrat and “Radoliubie” from Taraclia. Unlike the previous year, when only Moldovan artists performed at the artistic event in the northern capital of Russia, this year the festival will bring together artists from all the CIS states. Such famous singers as Karen Grigorean from Armenia, Azer Zeinalov, merited artist of Azerbaijan, Piotr Elfimov, renowned pop singer from Belarus, Mirali Dostiev from Tajikistan, Kerim Turapov from Kyrgyzstan as well as the vocal-choreographic band “Iveria” from Georgia, the vocal-instrumental group “Poiushchie Ghitary” and the artistic group “Russkie Tantsy” from Russia will perform at the festival. The April performance will be attended by numerous officials from the Commonwealth of Independent States and top European officials. Among the festivals’ guests of honor are the President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev, heads of parliament from the CIS states, the Vice President of the Western European Union Josette Durrieu, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Goran Lennmarker.
