Romania can do many things for the Republic of Moldova if there is openness and political will on the part of Chisinau, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca said in an interview for the program “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
“After Chisinau showed openness to Romania, our relations developed a lot. This openness occurred in clear dynamics, growing gradually. If there is openness and political will, we can further build gas pipelines and high voltage power lines and can do many important things,” stated the diplomat.
Asked what he thinks about the unionist movements in Chisinau, Lazurca said that these are not extremist in character. “The unionists’ message is clear. They want Moldova to unite with Romania so as to overcome the problems faced by the country. The unionist movement is represented both by civil organizations and by unionist parties. It is not a marginal phenomenon and cannot have an excessive character. I think the voices of those that seek the union should be heard,” stated the ambassador.
