“I don’t have the feeling that what happened in Moldova’s Parliament (tearing of the map of the Great Romania by Socialist MP Vlad Batrincea, e.n.) concerns Romania,” Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca said in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

“I think this incident refers more to Moldova’s internal policy. A politician damaged a teaching aid. There are many such aids that can have a political connotation. For example, when the history of the USSR is taught, they use the map of the USSR. You cannot get angry on pencils. This is not a historical moment, but it is related to history,” stated the Romanian diplomat.

Marius Lazurca noted that Romania will continue to help Moldova. “We didn’t lose patience. Romania assumed a role before Moldova, where the democracy is young and encounters growth difficulties. Our policy does not change depending on surveys. Our goal is not to obtain Moldova’s disappearance, but to strengthen this state until it gets the status of EU member,” he said.
