Vice president of the Shor Party Marina Tauber sad that the park “OrheiLand” can work even during a pandemic. “Social distancing can be maintained there as the park is situated on an area of 6 hectares. We have masks and gloves for each visitor. We have disinfectants and thermometers for measuring body temperature. We have trained people, including the administration of “OrheiLand”, which are very attentive to social distancing and disinfection of all mechanisms” stated Marina Tauber, being quoted by IPN.

In the general assembly of inhabitants of Orhei town, which was staged by the team of the Shor Party on July 5, Marina Tauber said the Moldovan authorities have a selective attitude to recreation areas. “Today, we and our children cannot spend the time as usual because of the actions taken by
Dodon against Ilan Shor in revenge. He has personal envy and this is his personal struggle because, as a politician, he didn’t show anything to the people. He has had all the administrative instruments, but cannot do something for the country. His team is falling apart and he is in absolute despair,” stated Marina Tauber.

Mayor of Orhei municipality Pavel Verejanu said that the bans imposed on “OrheiLand” are political in nature, while the recreation areas are not sources of coronavirus and this fact was proven by statistics. “The 21 children who got infected in Orhei district during almost four months became infected in the family, not at recreation centers or here, in “OrheiLand”,” he stated.

On July 4, Marina Tauber went to the Chisinau Park “Valea Morilor” to collect evidence of the fact that the government applies double standards in relation to the people living in Orhei and to “OrheiLand”. She said the beach was full of people and a lot of persons played football or volleyball on sports grounds. “The amusement areas for children work without any restriction. There is no board in “Valea Morilor” to inform about the danger of infection and no one wears masks and gloves there. There are no disinfectants there. Groups larger than three people were resting on grass and no one maintained social distancing,” wrote Marina Tauber.

Also on July 4, the National Public Health Agency issued a press release, warning about the danger of spread of COVID-19 infections in the amusement park “OrheiLand” given that there are many visitors there, especially children, and social distancing cannot be maintained. Specialists said the visitors of the park are primarily children accompanied by elderly persons, who are exposed to an increased risk of infection, or other grownups who can be asymptomatic.

The National Public Health Agency also warned that owing to the large flow of people, it would be hard to determine the source of infection or contact persons if a hotbed eventuality appears there. “Besides, the number of cases of COVID-19 in Orhei district, including among children, has grown,” the Agency noted.
