Mariana Dragutan medalled bronze at the European Women’s Cadet Wrestling Championships held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, IPN reports.
In the 52 kg class, she won four victories. In the first two fights, Dragutan beat Elnura Mammadova of Azerbaijan and Sweden’s Nova Ilona Bergman. She then lost to the future champion Ekaterina Verbina of Russia. In the qualifying rounds, Dragutan beat Josefine Maria Purshchke of Germany, while in the match for the bronze medal defeated Norway’s Othelie Annette Hoeie.
In the 46 kg class, Maria Leorda lost the match for the bronze medal to Anastasia Yanotova of Belarus.
