The Democratic Party aims to draft the political agreement on the formation of a parliamentary coalition by the end of this week, the party’s leader Marian Lupu said after the consultations between the Democratic MPs and President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports.

“We resume the discussions and negotiations with the partners from the PL and the Leanca group this evening. The first objective we set is to have, by this weekend, a draft political agreement and the draft program of the future parliamentary majority that would stipulate the priorities and the reforms we aim to do in this composition, as a derivative of the implementation of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union,” stated Lupu.

The leader of the PDM noted he will offer the parliamentary parties and individual MPs who share the priorities and goals set out in the program to sign the accord so as to gather at least 51 signatures.

“Next week, as a result of the discussions on the future coalition, we could present the candidate for premiership to the head of state. This candidate must be supported by all those who will represent the parliamentary majority,” said the Democrats’ leader.

“The previous days we waited for the colleagues from the PLDM to state a very clear position. Now we no longer wait. Let the processes take place in parallel,” stated Lupu, adding that the members of the PLDM are also invited to the discussions.
